The Grado Cat says

The Gado Cat Says
My cat Sif with Grado SR80i

Two years ago I bought som new headphones. Before I had many Sennheiser's
After som time trying a half dozen headphones I tried the Grado SR80i ,I ende op buying them

Now to years later i am convinced that the SR80i is a best buy...They have a nice crispy sound
and there is a natural live feel to the music. So if you ar looking for an almost perfect headphone try the Grados out

You won't be disappointed

The Analog sound can it cut it

Today's musik is mostly listed to over Ituns, Spottyfi and so on.
But many of os who consider a ourselves Audiophils still holde on to something called the vinyl record. Not everyone knows what this is :)

In my opinion the turntable is still far superior to the compact disc, and many music services on the internet. I haven't heard a cd player that could bet my olde Roksan Xerxes X

Now I got a olde MircoSeiki DDX 1500 its 22 years + and its bild like a German tank.

My model has only one arm. I am using a MircoSeiki Ma 505-MK III
Not much has changed over the last 20-25 years regarding arm design, and this combo can compete with the best the market has to offer today.

If i compere the DDX1500 to my old Roksan Xerxes 10 the DDX 1500 i far superior to the Xerxes in mechanical terms. It can be that the Xerxes is a little more musical, but that musically is not natural, and the Xerxes can many times source bright i the opper levels, I don't know why this is. My old Roksan combo did include The Tabriz Zi tone arm with the Corus black pick-up and later on i used a Origin Live Conquer Mk3  that arm was a beast. It was heavy 850 g thats alot for a tone arm. But i sounded good, the background of the music was totally black.. and i mean Black. But still it sounded a lille bright.

The Xerxes combo outperform may high-end cd players.
1. Mcintosh Mcd 201 Mcd 301
2. Pathos Endorphin
3.Talk Thunder 3.1B

Now to the DDX 1500
It's a direct driven turntable which is optimal in many aspects. I can stand on the platter and the turn the turntable on. And then it will spin me rund with no problems at all.
The sound is a little more softer and sweet than the Xerxes, but still enjoying and the music just flows natural. The pick up that i'm using is the Dynavector 10x5 ( the little red devil )

The Complexity of moving to a small apartment Part I

Recently I got an small apartment in Aalborg ( in Denmark ) it is 50 m2 or 538 sqft.
That isn't much but its a new apartment Complex made for students. Its made in a typical danish design lage white walls and a large windows to give alot of light.

The problem with a small apartment like this, is that et hard to decorate optimal if one dont go the way of the minimalist. The way I have gone is to integrated typical design classics from the 1950 ties both danish and american designs.

The biggest problem for me was to make at choice on which sofa I should get for my living-room.
As i saw it, it should be a light design that didn't appear heavy i the room ¨
2 choices

1 Le Corbusier LC3 ( I love its design but not its comfort )

2 Knoll 3 ( its most likely going to be this one )

To be continued
